About the Whistler Institute’s Culinary Task Force

The Whistler Institute’s role in championing the development and establishment of the Whistler Culinary and Hospitality Institute is aligned with the organization’s core focus of influencing change and inspiring minds through education and thought leadership. The Culinary & Hospitality Task Force, comprising of the Whistler Institute Chair and Directors and informed by a community-wide project advisory group, has been established to drive the opportunity and project for Whistler. Working closely with Vancouver Community College (VCC) on program development and space requirements, the Task Force has engaged commercial landlords to identify the best space to deliver VCC’s courses.

The programs developed and delivered by VCC aim to bolster the hospitality and tourism sectors of Whistler by further developing and cultivating a skilled workforce, while enhancing the region’s reputation as a top destination for culinary and hospitality excellence.
